Simple Past and Past Continuos
To begin this class, the teacher shared a screen of a blank blackboard with us, where we would put information about each of these topics and their characteristics. First we start by remembering about the simple past and how it is formed and used, then we continue with the past continous and finally we carry out two activities related to these topics. Past continous: Is used to show that an ongoing past action was happening at a specific moment of interruption, or that two ongoing actions were happening at the same time. The past continuous is formed using was/were + present participle. Questions are indicated by inverting the subject and was/were. Negatives are made with not. Use the past continuous to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted. The interruption is usually a shorter action in the simple past.
